New Board Officers Appointed at Community Gatepath
Burlingame, Calif - Community Gatepath, the largest non profits serving children and adults with disabilities has appointed a new slate of officers to lead their Board of Directors, which comprises 15 members total. Niall P. McCarthy, former Chair, has been at the helm for three years; his term expired December 2007. Lee McEnany Caraher, former Secretary of the board, assumed the role of Chair on January 1, 2008. McEnany Caraher is President and CEO of Double Forte, a San Francisco-based marketing and communications firm and mother of a Gatepath graduate of Children’s Services. Before founding Double Forte, Lee founded and served as president of Red Whistle Communications, a multi-office integrated marketing communications firm, part of the Weber Shandwick company and was vice president of corporate and consumer communications for Sega of America. A recognized communications strategist, McEnany Caraher was named one of the "Forty Under Forty PR Stars" by PRWeek. Remaining on the executive committee will be Barry Parker, board Vice Chair and Special Counsel for Carr, McClellan, Ingersoll, Thompson & Horn and Joe Galligan, board Treasurer and President of Galligan, Thompson & Flocas, LLP CPAs.nbsp; New to the executive committee are Steve Williams, Jeff Fallick and Larry Leisure. Community Gatepath (Gatepath) has been “Turning Disabilities Into Possibilities” for over 85 years by fostering hope, dignity and independence among children and adults with disabilities. Services at Gatepath span a lifetime and include early childhood intervention, family support, inclusive preschool and encompasses employment training, community job placement and direct day services for adults and seniors. Serving over 6,700 individuals annually, Gatepath has grown to become the largest nonprofit serving people with disabilities in San Mateo County.
