Benefits

Community Gatepath® offers full-time and part-time regular employees a comprehensive benefits package as part of employment with the agency.  Many of the benefits that Gatepath offers are available to employees and their dependents.  The information below is a summary of the benefit programs. 

MEDICAL- Eligible employees have a choice of two plans for medical coverage.  Benefits become available on the first of the month following the employee’s date of hire.  Employee contribution will be based on the plan selected.

  • KAISER - Use of Kaiser Doctors and Hospital facilities
  • HEALTHNET- Both HMO and PPO plans are offered

DENTAL- Dental coverage is offered through Delta Dental.  Employee contribution is based on number covered.  Employees have the option of choosing from the following:

  • DHMO – select from a list of dentists in the Delta Dental network
  • PPO or Premiere plan – offers the flexibility of visiting any licensed dentist

LIFE INSURANCE – Life insurance is available to employees at no cost and equals two times their annual salary. We also offer the option for employees to purchase additional life insurance if desired.

SECTION 125 – (FLEX PLAN) This plan allows benefit premium payments for Health Care and Dependent Care expenses to be tax exempt, which provides more disposable income for employees.

ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND DISMEMBERMENT INSURANCE – This plan provides coverage for employee and family members in the event of an accidental death and/or dismemberment.  Cost depends on coverage amount.

401K –Tax-deferred retirement plan is available to all staff 21 and older who have completed 12 months and or 1000 or more hours.

403 (b) – This voluntary retirement savings plan allows employees to invest for their retirement on a tax deferred basis and reduce taxable income amounts.

CREDIT UNION – Employees and their families have the financial services of both the San Mateo County Employees’ Credit Union and Provident Central Credit Union available to them.

VACATION – Employees are eligible for a minimum of two weeks of paid vacation after completing one year of continuous employment.  Vacation accrual increases to 15 days after four years of continuous service, then to 20 days after 10 years of service.

SICK LEAVE – Employees are eligible for 10 paid sick days per year.

HOLIDAYS – Employees are eligible for 10 paid holidays during 2007.
